One of the most common questions we get at Prime Labs is:
âHow long will my vial last?â
The answer depends on three things:
â The size of the vial
â Your weekly amount
â How often you use it
Letâs make it simple.
⸝
Step 1: Look at the Total Amount in the Vial
Every vial contains a certain amount of product.
Examples:
* 5mg vial
* 10mg vial
* 15mg vial
* 20mg vial
The higher the number, the longer the vial can potentially last.
⸝
Step 2: Divide by Your Weekly Amount
A quick way to estimate:
Vial Size á Weekly Amount = Weeks of Use
Example 1
20mg vial
Using 2mg per week
20 á 2 = 10
âĄď¸ Approximately 10 weeks
⸝
Example 2
10mg vial
Using 2.5mg per week
10 á 2.5 = 4
âĄď¸ Approximately 4 weeks
⸝
Example 3
20mg vial
Using 5mg per week
20 á 5 = 4
âĄď¸ Approximately 4 weeks
⸝
Common Examples
20mg Vial
* 2mg/week = 10 weeks
* 2.5mg/week = 8 weeks
* 4mg/week = 5 weeks
* 5mg/week = 4 weeks
⸝
10mg Vial
* 1mg/week = 10 weeks
* 2mg/week = 5 weeks
* 2.5mg/week = 4 weeks
* 5mg/week = 2 weeks
⸝
What About Reconstitution?
Many people think adding more or less bacteriostatic water changes how long the vial lasts.
It doesnât.
Adding more water simply changes the concentration.
The total amount in the vial remains the same.
A 20mg vial still contains 20mg whether you add 1mL, 2mL, or 3mL of bacteriostatic water.
⸝
How Long Is a Mixed Vial Typically Kept?
Most researchers store mixed vials in the refrigerator and use them within the generally accepted timeframe recommended by their supplier (shelf-life is increased up to 2 years when refrigerated).
Always inspect the vial before use.
Do not use products that appear cloudy, discolored, or contain unexpected particles.
⸝
Quick Formula
Total Amount in Vial á Amount Used Per Week = Estimated Weeks of Use
Thatâs it.
If youâre ever unsure, Prime Labs is happy to help you calculate exactly how long your vial may last based on your specific protocol.
